Mothers of Murdered Sons and Daughters of Kentucky is a support group located in Louisville, KY helping individuals walk through the grieving process together.
It takes the whole community to get involved in the fight against gun violence. Donate today to help us continue our work of supporting grieving individuals through love, faith and hope.

M.O.M.S. focuses on communities where violence is a frequent occurrence and people are at the most significant risk of shooting or being shot.
Through our efforts to wrap our arms around the community, we support those in the middle of the grieving process while hoping to break the cycles of violence that happen.
M.O.M.S. was founded in 2016 after our founder, Kenneth Forbes, Sr., spent years going through grief alone after his son was shot and killed in 2012.
Through that personal journey, Forbes decided to turn his tragedy into power. Today, M.O.M.S. leads support groups for folks like him who are dealing with the loss of a loved one while also working with policymakers to stop others from having to feel his same pain.

Community Members Strong

Since 2016, M.O.M.S. has provided a community and support system to hundreds of individuals.
We work with certified grief facilitators to host a grief support group twice a month to help people suffering from the loss of a loved one due to gun violence.
Each meeting consists of a light meal and a group discussion. Meetings are free to join, and we welcome anyone aged 18 and up.

Each day, we are supporting loved ones, bringing awareness to our cause and working to reduce gun violence through legislation. See more »

Gun violence is a public health tragedy affecting people in our community each day. We believe each death is preventable and avoidable.
We educate city and state policymakers on the value of common sense gun laws, violence prevention programs and support programs for those who have lost loved ones.
By enacting these policies, we can create lasting change.
